Looking through the Denver Post blog, one article called Springs man drowns while fishing caught my eye. This article is about a Colorado Springs man who drowns while fishing. Two men had been fishing at the Arkansas River during nighttime. They had been using glowing worms as bait to see if any fish would get to it; but the man leaned in to far and got swept away by the currents. The current had also done the same to the other man, but fortunately he was able to climb out of the water.
I thought this was very unfortunate and a bit stupid. If the two men might have had life jackets on, they might have saved their lives. Even when they go during nighttime, it is very dangerous because they have a higher risk of falling in and nobody would be able to see them. They could have been much safer if it was during daytime and if they had on life jackets.
This relates to the world, because sometimes there are the easy and simple things to do to keep you safe. This connected to my other blog, on the teens, buckle up. That article also talked about how teenagers need to buckle up every time they drive; because it keeps them safe. One buckle up could save their lives. Sometimes, it is the simplest things that could keep people safe.
